Celtic top on goal difference

Celtic and Rangers both kept up their winning runs in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League but it is now Neil Lennon's men who lead on goal difference going into the international break.

Rangers came from behind to secure a dramatic 2-1 victory over Hearts at Tynecastle in the lunchtime clash. Rudi Skacel fired the hosts ahead but Kyle Lafferty came off the bench to score a late leveller and Steven Naismith grabbed the clincher in stoppage time.

Celtic had to hit back after Mark McLaughlin opened the scoring for Hamilton after just three minutes at Parkhead. Shaun Maloney equalised before half-time and added a free-kick in the second period. Gary Hooper scored the 71st-minute goal that hoisted Celtic to the summit.

Third-placed Motherwell claimed their first home win of the season but left it late to beat bottom club St Mirren 3-1. Chris Humphrey fired Well ahead but Gareth Wardlaw equalised, only for Tom Hateley (penalty) and Jamie Murphy to pounce in the final three minutes at Fir Park.

Dundee United are up to fourth thanks to a 2-1 triumph over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. David Goodwillie and Jon Daly had United in command before Connor Sammon pulled one back in stoppage time after Killie had been reduced to 10 men - Frazer Wright seeing red for two bookings.

Inverness CT enjoyed a first ever home win over Aberdeen with Jonny Hayes and Adam Rooney on target in a 2-0 success against the Dons to end a three-game losing home run since promotion. Mark McGhee's team had Michael Paton sent off midway through the second half.

Liam Craig and Marcus Haber were St Johnstone's scorers in the second half as they overcame Hibernian 2-0 at McDiarmid Park to move above John Hughes' men in the table.
