The SPL today published the Clydesdale Bank Premier League fixture list for Season 2008/09.
Reigning champions Celtic begin the defence of their trophy with a home game against St Mirren on Sunday, August 10, kick-off 12.30pm.
That match is one of three being shown live by Setanta Sports over the opening weekend. Rangers’ visit to Falkirk at 12.30pm on Saturday August 9 and Hamilton Accies’ SPL debut against Dundee United at New Douglas Park on Monday August 11 will also be televised.
UEFA Cup entrants Motherwell kick off their domestic campaign with a trip to play Hearts at Tynecastle while Aberdeen, who finished fourth in 2007/08, start at home to Inverness CT and Kilmarnock entertain Hibernian at Rugby Park.
The first Old Firm derby is scheduled for Celtic Park on the weekend of August 30. Rangers host their city rivals on December 27, with the third encounter set for February 14.
Hibernian and Hearts clash at Easter Road on October 18 and March 14 and meet at Tynecastle for a New Year fixture on January 3, while neighbours Motherwell and Hamilton Accies go head to head for the first time in the SPL at Fir Park on November 1.
The final round of pre-split fixtures takes place on April 18 when Celtic host Aberdeen and Rangers go to Hibernian. Post-split matches are scheduled for May 2, 9, 13, 16 and 23/24.
