The 27-year-old was with Hearts as a youngster and also played for Dunfermline Athletic and Cowdenbeath earlier in his career.
Warriors boss Davie Irons told the club website: "Chris is a combative defensive-minded midfielder, with the versatility of being able to cover across the back four if required.
"He has significant experience both in League 2 and in League 1, which is where we are aiming to be this time next year."
