Aberdeen have parted company with manager Mark McGhee after a poor run of results which leaves them joint bottom of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League with 10 points from 15 games.
Dons legend McGhee replaced Jimmy Calderwood in summer 2009 but Aberdeen failed to make the top six last season and were unable to build on a good start this term, losing their last six matches.
Chairman Stewart Milne said: "On behalf of everyone at the Club, I would like to thank Mark (McGhee), Scott (Leitch) and Colin (Meldrum) for their time at Aberdeen. It goes without saying that everyone at Aberdeen Football Club wishes Mark, Scott and Colin every success in the future."
Aberdeen's home match against Celtic on Saturday has already been postponed due to the severe weather - they are set to return to action with a trip to in-form Hearts on December 11.
Coaches Neil Cooper and Neil Simpson will take temporary charge of the team as the Pittodrie club begin the process of looking for a new manager.
Director of Football Willie Miller said: "We don't want to put a time on it, but we'd like to get it done as soon as possible. We have to go through the procedure of building up a shortlist of candidates.
"Mark's worked hard over the period he's been at the club, but eventually, as at any club, results dictate the future of any manager. The decision was made by the board that we wanted to make the change at this moment in time to give us time to try to build up momentum and get some points."
