The former Morton and East Stirlingshire boss is the longest-serving SPFL manager by a distance, having been in charge since October 2011.
Chairman Rodger Morrison told the club website: "Our opinion of Jim has never changed; he is simply the best man for the job. There was never any doubt in my mind, Jim just needed a little time to realise that for himself.”
