Mulgrew named Player of the Month for April

Celtic and Scotland defender Charlie Mulgrew has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Player of the Month for April.

The versatile left-sided player helped the Parkhead club win all their league games last month without the loss of a goal and he took his own tally for the season to eight SPL goals.

In the last few days, Mulgrew has also been voted Player of the Year by both his fellow professionals and journalists from the Scottish Football Writers' Association.

April's Manager of the Month award was last week presented to Celtic boss Neil Lennon and Motherwell defender Shaun Hutchinson was voted Young Player of the Month.
