SCLC Final Travel Info - Train

Train approach routes: The Scottish Communities League Cup Final 2013

Information for supporters traveling on trains to the Scottish Communities League Cup Final at Hampden Park.

Due to Network Rail engineering work in the Linlithgow area, there will be no trains between Polmont and Edinburgh on 17 March.

Top five tips for fans:

1)  We recommend that fans travelling between Edinburgh and Glasgow use routes via either Airdrie or Shotts.

2)  Another option is to use replacement buses between Edinburgh and Polmont, where buses will link with trains to and from Glasgow.

3)  Buy tickets in advance at staffed stations, via telesales on 08457 550033, or online

4)  Avoid drinking or visibly carrying alcohol on trains to and from Glasgow before and after the game  when a ban will be enforced by British Transport Police.

This is in addition to our 9pm to 10am alcohol ban.

5)  Consider travelling home a little later from Glasgow, as there may be long queues if all fans go straight to stations after the final whistle.

What the rail services are doing to limit the impact on customers:

1)  Running a half-hourly service on the Edinburgh Glasgow via Airdrie route throughout the day and providing buses between Edinburgh and Polmont.

2)  Providing extra carriages and additional services.

3)  Running extra services between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida before and after the event.

4)  Providing longer trains on half a dozen routes in and out of Glasgow.

5)  Enlisting the help of extra staff to assist customers at Edinburgh Waverley, Glasgow Central, Glasgow Queen Street, Mount Florida, and Paisley Gilmour Street.
