The 25-year-old former Celtic, Morton and Birmingham City forward joins the Sons from Falkirk, having spent time on loan at Stranraer last season.
Manager Jim Duffy told the club website: "Denny put in some excellent performances for Morton when I was manager there and I'm optimistic we can see the same from him again."
