Over £3.5 million in prize and TV money will be paid out to clubs for the 2024/25 Premier Sports Cup – an increase of 14% on this year’s competition.
Next season’s Premier Sports Cup winners will receive £400,000. Each participating club is guaranteed to receive at least £30,000, which is an increase of 25% from this season. Further sums are available asfacility fee paymentsfor all live television matches, with the final payout to clubs for the competition topping £3.5 million for the first time ever.
Neil Doncaster, chief executive of the SPFL, said: “We’re delighted to announce record prize money for our flagship cup competition next season.
“Premier Sports have been fantastic supporters of the League Cup and of our national game. That investment has enabled us to further increase the funds we can make available to clubs competing in our premier cup competition.
“We’re all looking forward to the return of the Premier Sports Cup, with the draw for the firstround group stage taking place at 1.00pm on Wednesday 29 May, live on Premier Sports. Seeding pots for the draw will be confirmed early next week.”
The full schedule of prize monies for the Premier Sports Cup is set out below:
- Winners - £400,000
- Runners-up - £200,000
- Losing semi-finalists - £150,000
- Losing quarter-finalists - £100,000
- Second round losers - £60,000
First round group stage:
- Five worst runners-up - £36,000
- Third position - £34,000
- Fourth position - £32,000
- Fifth position - £30,000
In addition, any club (home or away) taking part in a match selected for live broadcast by Premier Sports will receive a TV facility fee of £18,000 in the first round group stage, or £30,000 in the later rounds.
