St Mirren have appointed Alan Stubbs as their new manager on a three-year contract following the recent departure of Jack Ross to Sunderland.
The 46-year-old famously led Hibernian to Scottish Cup glory during his two years in charge at Easter Road from 2014-16 then had a spell as Rotherham United boss.
Saints chief executive Tony Fitzpatrick told the club website: "We'd like to thank all who applied for the role as manager. There were a number of good applicants but we felt that Alan was the outstanding candidate.”
St Mirren are gearing up for Ladbrokes Premiership football in 2018/19 but Stubbs’ first match in charge will be a Betfred Cup tie at Kilmarnock on Friday July 13, live on BT Sport.
