Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View from the Terrace names his William Hill SPFL XI...

GK - Josh Rae (Raith Rovers)

Rovers got their first win of the William Hill Championship season at the weekend, defeating Ayr United 1-0 at Somerset. Dylan Easton scored within the first minute and their goalkeeper then made sure that was enough for all three points with some excellent saves.

DEF - Logan Myles (Edinburgh City)

Edinburgh City began to make up ground at the foot of William Hill League 2 with a 2-1 victory over Stranraer on Saturday. Youngster Myles played at right-back and impressed throughout the contest at Stair Park.

DEF - Stuart Findlay (Hearts)

This week's Star Man played a part in all three goals as Heart of Midlothian edged out Dundee United to maintain their 100% start to the campaign. Not only did Stuart Findlay score an injury-time winner but he also nodded home the equaliser and won the penalty for Lawrence Shankland's first league goal of the season. On top of all that, the 29-year-old put in a strong shift in defence.

DEF - Clark Robertson (Dundee)

Dundee may have narrowly missed out on all three points against Rangers but this was an encouraging performance from Steven Pressley's men. Robertson was a colossus at Ibrox, winning challenges and headers.

DEF - John Tod (Dunfermline Athletic)

It was a proud day for the Tod family as both brothers found the back of the net in Dunfermline Athletic's 2-0 triumph over Airdrieonians. While both produced excellent displays, we've opted for John after his mazy run and strike to claim three precious William Hill Championship points.

DEF - Ivan Dolcek (Dundee United)

His side may ultimately have been left with nothing to show for their efforts, but the summer signing did everything possible to ensure his side gained a positive result. Dolcek scored twice as United went down 3-2 to Heart of Midlothian, including scoring a terrific free-kick.

MID - Connor Smith (Hamilton Accies)

Accies continued their strong start to the William Hill League 1 season with a 4-1 victory away at Queen of the South. Smith netted twice in the victory.

MID - Scott Pittman (Livingston)

The veteran midfielder has rolled back the years so far in this William Hill Premiership campaign. He followed up his equaliser against Kilmarnock on opening weekend by making it two goals in as many weeks with the opener in Livingston's 3-1 triumph over fellow top flight new-boys Falkirk.

MID - Benjamin Nygren (Celtic)

Celtic's summer signing netted his first goal for the club and impressed in the centre of the park with his movement and tenacity as Brendan Rodgers' side made it two wins from two with a 2-0 victory at Aberdeen.

MID - Kai Kirkpatrick (Dumbarton)

A tremendous strike saw the attacker score his first ever SPFL goal as Dumbarton defeated Spartans 3-1 in William Hill League 2. He also put in a power of work charging up and down the wing.

FWD - Dale Carrick (Stenhousemuir)

Carrick has slotted in seamlessly at Ochilview after signing from Stirling Albion on the eve of the season. He both led the line superbly and netted the only goal of the game as his new club defeated Cove Rangers 1-0 at home in William Hill League 1.
