Third Lanark forgiven by Suppliers

Greaves Sports step in to sponsor the Hi-Hi

The group behind the move to bring Third Lanark back to life after over 40 years in the wilderness were pleased to learn that sports suppliers Greaves Sports were prepared to let bygones be bygones and agreed to become shirt sponsors of club.

When Third’s went out of business in 1967 one of the suppliers shops, Lumleys of Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow was a creditor, however they were eventually paid up when the parties agreed an out of court settlement.

The Hi-Hi’s chairman Simon Weir said, “Lumleys were the Official kit suppliers to Third Lanark in the 1950s and 60s and thankfully for the current board the debt was settled out of court.”

“We are delighted to have the name of Greaves Sports on the jerseys of the teams now wearing the Third Lanark red jerseys and badge.”
