Hamilton Accies have signed former St Johnstone striker Jason Scotland until the end of the season following his departure from Barnsley.
The 34-year-old has also played for Dundee United, Swansea, Wigan and Ipswich and could make his Accies debut in Saturday's home game against Cowdenbeath.
Chairman Les Gray told the club website: "I have been chasing this player all month and we have been working away in the background on it.
"There were a few other clubs in Scotland keen to sign him but we were on the ball at all times in monitoring his situation. He is an established goalscorer with a good pedigree in Scotland, England and Wales and has commanded transfer fees in excess of £2m."
