Ayr United took a huge step towards the Ladbrokes Championship play-off final with a 4-1 win over Peterhead at Balmoor on Tuesday night.

Mikey Donald's opening goal was cancelled out by Blue Toon striker Leighton McIntosh but Jordan Preston restored Ayr's lead shortly before the break.

Preston scored the third for the Honest Men on the hour mark and Robbie Crawford rounded off a great night for the visitors with a fourth goal 16 minutes from time.
