Albion Rovers v Airdrie - Cash for Kids Game

Charity match set for Lanarkshire

Albion Rovers and Airdrie have agreed to a Lanarkshire Derby at the start of the new season to raise funds for locally based Children’s Charity Cash for Kids.

The sides will meet at Cliftonhill on Tuesday, July 22 and tickets are priced at £5 for adults and £2 for concessions with children getting in for free.

Rovers boss James Ward said: “This is a great game for a number of reasons. It is a derby which will have a bit more passion than a normal pre-season game. Also Airdrie are a very good side so it will be a test and the fact that we will be raising money for charity makes it even more special.

The Coatbridge side recently launched a third choice strip that will carry the charity’s logo on its chest as opposed to a sponsorship
