Alloa manager Barry Smith hailed his side after they came from behind to beat Rangers 3-2 in the semi-final of the Petrofac Training Cup.

Rangers led 2-0 going into the last 20 minutes at the Indodrill Stadium but a Greig Spence double and a Ryan McCord goal earned the Wasps a famous win.

Alloa will now play Livingston in the final on Sunday April 5, 2015 - live on BBC ALBA at 4.05pm, with the venue to be confirmed.

Smith, who took over from Paul Hartley last season and kept the club in the Championship, said: "It's a massive achievement for the club, the players and myself.

"I thought we were excellent in the first half but to come from 2-0 down to win 3-2 was exceptional. We had nine players missing but the boys who came in were excellent.

"It's massive for the club to get to a cup final, and to put Rangers out on the way there. I don't look into a lot of facts but it's great to be the first Alloa manager to beat Rangers."
