Simon Church gave the Dons a first-half lead but Liam Craig converted a penalty two minutes from time as Saints climbed to fourth.

Third-placed Hearts missed two penalties but an early Jamie Walker goal saw them beat Kilmarnock 1-0 at Tynecastle.

Louis Moult scored twice - one a penalty - as Motherwell beat Partick Thistle 3-1 at Fir Park to leapfrog the Jags. Marvin Johnson was also on target for Mark McGhee's men, with Callum Booth claiming a consolation.

Bottom club Dundee United reduced the gap on Kilmarnock to eight points thanks to a 3-0 win away to Ross County. Paul Paton, Billy McKay and Ryan Dow were all on target for Mixu Paatelainen's men in Dingwall.

Kane Hemmings netted a late equaliser as Dundee hit back to draw 1-1 with Inverness CT at Dens Park after Ross Draper had given Caley Thistle the lead.
