Gary Bollan has been named as the new manager of Forfar Athletic following his departure from Ladbrokes League 1 rivals Airdrieonians on Sunday.
The former Livingston boss takes over from Dick Campbell, who parted company with the Loons after more than seven years in charge in the wake of the recent 1-0 defeat to Cowdenbeath. Bollan will be assisted by Stuart Balmer, with Ian Flaherty also part of the coaching team.
A Forfar spokesman said: "It was only after an extensive interviewing process that the Board came to the unanimous decision that Gary was the man in their opinion to take the club forward in what are difficult times.
"He will obviously be in charge of the team for the visit of league leaders Dunfermline Athletic on Boxing Day and we are sure the home support will give him a warm welcome.
"The club would like to put on record their thanks to all who applied officially or noted an interest in the post and wish them all well for their future in the game.
"The Forfar Athletic directors would also like to thank their counterparts at Airdrie for their co-operation in making the appointment possible and their thanks are also extended to Stewart Petrie and Barry Sellars who prepared the team in a very professional manner for the trip to Coatbridge on Saturday past.”
Airdrieonians chairman Tom Wotherspoon told the club website: "The club would like to thank Gary and his staff, Stuart Balmer and Ian Flaherty, for their efforts in their time in charge.
"We will have a new coaching team in place for the home match with Peterhead on Boxing Day and will make an announcement about that to our fans in the coming days."
