Brechin City hope to announce Ray McKinnon's replacement in the near future, with applications for the job closing today.

Brechin City hope to announce Ray McKinnon's replacement in the near future, with applications for the job closing today.

McKinnon had been in charge at Glebe Park since 2012 but recently moved to take over at Championship side Raith Rovers.

Coaches Grant Johnson and Darren Taylor have also departed for Stark's Park and a Brechin spokesman said: "Applications have been coming in steadily for the vacant manager's post.

“With a number of good-quality applicants received so far, the club are keen to fill the vacancy at the earliest opportunity."

City have confirmed that Andy Jackson, Paul McLean, Graeme Smith, Darren McCormack, Craig Molloy, Robert Thomson, Patrick O’Neil and Gary Fusco are signed up for 2015/16.
