In-form Brechin City beat Dunfermline 1-0 at East End Park on Tuesday night to move to within four points of leaders Stranraer.
Alan Trouten scored the winner with 17 minutes left as Ray McKinnon's men extended their unbeaten sequence in League 1 to an impressive 14 games.
Dunfermline are now six points outside the play-off places but will have the chance for revenge when the teams meet again at Glebe Park next week.
