Billy McKay opened the scoring after 34 minutes and Marley Watkins added a second goal before the break as John Hughes' side leapfrogged Dundee United in the table.

St Johnstone remain in sixth place as they prepare to face leaders Aberdeen at McDiarmid Park on Friday, live on BT Sport at 7.45pm.
