Virgil van Dijk opened the scoring and Leigh Griffiths doubled their lead before Mikael Lustig added two more goals in the closing stages.

Individual performance of the night went to Partick Thistle striker Kris Doolan, who netted four goals as Alan Archibald's team beat Hamilton Accies 5-0 at Firhill. Nathan Eccleston was also on target for the Jags.

Dundee leapfrogged Kilmarnock to move to within three points of the top six thanks to a 1-0 win over Allan Johnston's team at Dens Park. Greg Stewart's first-half penalty was the difference between the sides.

Second-bottom St Mirren earned an important point in a 1-1 home draw with Dundee United. Kenny McLean gave Saints the lead but Stuart Armstrong levelled before the break.
