Celtic missed out on a place in the Champions League group stage after going down 2-0 to Malmo in the second leg of their play-off on Tuesday.
Ronny Deila’s side led 3-2 from the first leg at Parkhead but Markus Rosenborg edged the Swedes ahead following a corner midway through the first half.
Nir Bitton had a goal disallowed just before half-time and Malmo scored again early in the second half when Felipe Carvalho was credited with the goal after the ball was scrambled over the line.
Celtic will now take their place in Friday’s draw for the Europa League group stage, with matchday one scheduled for Thursday September 17.
