Celtic are in Europa League action on Thursday evening when they face Romanian side Astra, live on BT Sport at 6pm.
Ronny Deila's men won 2-1 when the sides met at Parkhead a fortnight ago and victory in part two of the double header could see them book a place in the knock-out stage.
Celtic have taken seven points out of nine so far, as have Salzburg who travel to third-placed Dinamo Zagreb.
Deila told the club website: "We had a tough game at Celtic Park and it’s going to be more difficult away. We need to keep improving, as we have done in the last month, and then hopefully we will get three points.
“We have a very good chance now but there are three hard games left and things are very equal in the group."
Celtic's remaining Group D fixtures are at home to Salzburg on November 27 and away to Dinamo Zagreb on December 11.
