Celtic set new unbeaten record

Celtic set a new British record of 63 domestic games without defeat by beating St Johnstone 4-0 at McDiarmid Park this afternoon.

Celtic set a new British record of 63 domestic games without defeat by beating St Johnstone 4-0 at McDiarmid Park this afternoon.

The Parkhead club eclipsed their own landmark of 62 matches without loss, set between 1915 and 1917, with an emphatic win in Perth.

Saints were the last team to beat Celtic in May 2016 and Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers has yet to taste defeat in domestic football since replacing Ronny Deila that summer.

Celtic sealed the Treble last season and defend the Betfred Cup against Motherwell at Hampden later this month. Their next match in the Ladbrokes Premiership is away to Ross County on Saturday November 18 and they will travel to Dingwall with a three-point lead at the top.
