Coughlin signs new deal with Berwick

Berwick Rangers boss John Coughlin has signed a new two-year deal at Shielfield after steering the club away from danger this season.

Berwick Rangers boss John Coughlin has signed a new two-year deal at Shielfield after steering the club away from danger this season.

The former East Stirlingshire and Stenhousemuir manager replaced Colin Cameron in November and has now signed a full-time deal with the Borderers.

Berwick are seventh in Ladbrokes League 2 and have conceded just one goal in the past seven games as they prepare to face Clyde at Shielfield today.

Chairman Brian Porteous told the club website: “This is a real positive step forward for us all. John came into the club when we were at a very low point. We were at the foot of the table and staring at a pyramid play-off game - who knows what the consequences of that would be."
