Coyle leaves Ross County

Ross County manager Owen Coyle resigned on Thursday evening with the club sitting bottom of the Ladbrokes Premiership.

Ross County manager Owen Coyle resigned on Thursday evening with the club sitting bottom of the Ladbrokes Premiership.

The former Burnley and St Johnstone boss took over from Jim McIntyre in September but has been unable to lift the Staggies up the table.

He told the club website: "Myself and the chairman had a chat on Monday and, after some reflective thought, I felt for the good of Ross County - and the challenging situation with my family being in England - it was in everyone’s best interests for me to offer my resignation, which the chairman duly accepted.”

Ross County have confirmed that U20 coach Stuart Kettlewell and academy director Steven Ferguson will take charge of first-team affairs until the end of the season.
