Jon Daly will become U20 coach at Hearts when his short-term contract with Raith Rovers comes to an end in January.
The 32-year-old striker, who was previously with Dundee United and Rangers, replaces Jack Ross, who recently left the Tynecastle club.
Director of Football Craig Levein told the Hearts website: "Jon is somebody myself and Robbie (Neilson) know from our respective times at Dundee United and it’s an exciting appointment.
“We believe he has all the attributes to develop into a great coach and we look forward to welcoming him in January.”
