Moussa Dembele hit a hat-trick as Celtic beat Rangers 5-1 at Parkhead on Saturday to make it four wins out of four in the Ladbrokes Premiership.

The 20-year-old headed the opener from a corner in 33 minutes and the former Fulham striker added the second with a fine finish nine minutes later.

Joe Garner pulled one back just before the break but Scott Sinclair restored Celtic’s two-goal lead in 61 minutes before Rangers defender Philippe Senderos saw red for a second booking.

Dembele completed the first Old Firm hat-trick in a league game since Stevie Chalmers 50 years ago when he fired past Wes Foderingham seven minutes from time and Stuart Armstrong rounded things off for Brendan Rodgers’ side with a fifth goal in stoppage time.

Hearts are up to second place after coming from behind to beat Hamilton Accies 3-1 at Tynecastle. Ali Crawford put the visitors in front but a Jamie Walker double, the second a penalty, turned things round and Sam Nicholson added the third goal in stoppage time.

St Johnstone defeated Partick Thistle 2-0 at Firhill thanks to goals from Steven Anderson and Steven MacLean to move up to fifth in the table.

Aberdeen were pegged back in a 1-1 draw against Inverness CT at Pittodrie. Niall McGinn opened the scoring but Iain Vigurs earned Caley Thistle a point, which was enough to take them off the foot of the table at the expense of Partick Thistle.

Fourth-placed Ross County drew 1-1 with Motherwell at the Global Energy Stadium. Louis Moult equalised from the penalty spot after Liam Boyce had scored for the Staggies, who had Jay McEveley sent off 20 minutes from time.

It was also 1-1 between Dundee and Kilmarnock at Dens Park. Faissal El Bakhtaoui gave the Dark Blues an early lead but Souleymane Coulibaly equalised before the break. Dundee's Kevin Gomis saw red late on.
