Queen of the South have pulled off a major coup with the signing of their former striker Stephen Dobbie from Bolton Wanderers.

Queen of the South have pulled off a major coup with the signing of their former striker Stephen Dobbie from Bolton Wanderers.

The 33-year-old, who has been playing as an attacking midfielder of late, left Palmerston for Swansea City in 2009 and has also played for Blackpool, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Fleetwood Town.

Dobbie, who can also count Rangers, Hibernian and St Johnstone among his former clubs, told the Queen of the South website: "I had a few things in the pipeline but as soon as I knew Queens were interested it was just a matter of getting it done.

"I love scoring goals and I've not come here to be fifth or sixth in the Championship - I'm coming here to help try to get the club to the play-offs or higher."

Football Development Manager Jim Thomson added: "It's fantastic for the club - I didn't think we would be able to get someone of his quality. It shows everybody where we want to be - the top end of the Championship."
