Adam Rooney's seventh league goal of the season gave the Dons a first-half lead but Scott McDonald equalised for Mark McGhee's men at Pittodrie.

Hearts strengthened their grip on third place with a 2-0 win over Ross County at Tynecastle. Callum Paterson and Osman Sow got the goals for Robbie Neilson's side, who had Blazej Augustyn sent off early in the second half.

St Johnstone moved into the top six after beating Inverness CT 1-0 at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium. Saints had Dave Mackay dismissed just after the break but they claimed all three points with a stoppage-time penalty from Liam Craig.

Hamilton Accies hit back for a 1-1 draw at Partick Thistle despite playing the second half with 10 men. Mathias Pogba gave the Jags the lead on the hour mark but Dougie Imrie equalised for the visitors, who had Lucas Tagliapietra red carded in first-half stoppage time.

Leaders Celtic are at home to bottom club Dundee United on Sunday, kick-off 3.00pm.
