Dundee earned their first derby win of the season to move into the top six of the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night.
Paul Hartley's side beat Dundee United 3-1 at Dens Park, with James McPake and Paul Heffernan on target after Greg Stewart's opener had been cancelled out by Nadir Ciftci's penalty.
Leaders Celtic remain seven points clear following a 2-0 win against Partick Thistle at Parkhead. Kris Commons broke the deadlock from the penalty spot just before the break after James Craigen had been sent off and Stefan Johansen sealed the victory for Ronny Deila's men.
Defender Ash Taylor got the only goal shortly after half-time as second-placed Aberdeen saw off Inverness Caley Thistle 1-0 at Pittodrie.
