Dundee United have signed former Liverpool striker Florent Sinama Pongolle on a deal until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old becomes Mixu Paatelainen's third new addition since he replaced Jackie McNamara as manager, following the recent arrivals of Guy Demel and Gavin Gunning.
Pongolle has been training with Dundee United after leaving Lausanne in Switzerland and has also played for Blackburn Rovers, Atletico Madrid, St Etienne and Chicago Fire, among others.
Paatelainen told the club website: “He will bring experience, tactical awareness and quality to our squad. He understands football, shows excellent passing and positional sense and I am looking forward to working with him.”
Pongolle could make his debut in Saturday's game against Hamilton Accies at Tannadice.
