Hibernian sealed their SPL place for next season and relegated Dunfermline in the process with a 4-0 victory at Easter Road on Monday evening.
Hibs had won only once at home but made a storming start in front of a 15,281 crowd - their biggest of the season - on a night when only a win would have kept Dunfermline's hopes alive.
Matt Doherty headed the opener after just five minutes and Eoin Doyle nodded his first Clydesdale Bank Premier League goal soon after before Garry O'Connor's penalty, his 12th league goal of the season, made it 3-0 with only 15 minutes on the clock.
Paul Hanlon added a late fourth for Pat Fenlon's team, who have the Scottish Cup final to look forward to on May 19, although TV replays showed the ball had not crossed the line.
