Elgin and Jack part company

Elgin City have today parted company with manager Ross Jack, who had been in charge at Borough Briggs since January 2009

Elgin City have today parted company with manager Ross Jack, who had been in charge at Borough Briggs since January 2009.

Elgin are currently second from bottom in League 2, eight points outside the promotion play-offs, and were beaten 2-0 by Queen's Park on Saturday.

Jack was the second-longest serving current boss in Scottish football, behind Forfar's Dick Campbell, but his five-year reign has now come to an end.

A club statement read: "The Board of Directors of Elgin City Football Club wish to announce that, by mutual consent, the Club has parted company with the Manager, Ross Jack.

"The Directors wish to thank Ross for his contribution over the last five years and wish him all the best for the future."
