Elgin stretch lead in League 2

Elgin City moved five points clear at the top of Ladbrokes League 2 with a 1-0 home win over Berwick Rangers on Saturday.

Craig Gunn scored the only goal for Jim Weir’s men after 12 minutes and Berwick had Jonny Fairbairn sent off early in the second half.

East Fife continued their good run by beating bottom club East Stirlingshire 3-1 at Ochilview. Gary Naysmith's own goal gave Shire the lead but Kyle Wilkie, Nathan Austin and on-loan Ali Coote all scored for the visitors.

Arbroath beat Annan 2-1 at Gayfield with goals from Craig Watson and Martin McNiff (own goal). Peter Weatherson converted a late penalty for the visitors.

Montrose hit back to beat Clyde 2-1 at Links Park. The Bully Wee had Michael Bolochoweckyj sent off but went ahead through Mark McLaughlin. Trialist Jamie Clarke and Adrian Mallagaray struck for Paul Hegarty's men.

Second-placed Queen's Park drew 0-0 with Stirling Albion at Forthbank.
