Aberdeen and Heart of Midlothian begin their Europa League campaigns on Thursday night with home games in the first qualifying round.

Aberdeen and Heart of Midlothian begin their Europa League campaigns on Thursday night with home games in the first qualifying round.

Derek McInnes' men take on Fola Esch, with the second leg in Luxembourg a week today, while Robbie Neilson's team welcome Infonet to Tynecastle ahead of Wednesday's return in Estonia.

Aberdeen will play Ventspils (Latvia) or Vikingur (Faroes) if the progress to round two while Hearts would be up against Siroki Brijeg (Bosnia) or Birkirkara (Malta).

The Dons overcame Shkendija of Macedonia at this stage a year ago and beat Rijeka of Croatia before losing 3-2 on aggregate to Kairat Almaty of Kazakhstan in the third qualifying round.

Hearts, meanwhile, are preparing for their first European tie since a meeting with Liverpool in the Europa League play-offs in 2012/13 when they drew 1-1 at Anfield after losing 1-0 in Edinburgh.
