Forfar relegated from League 1

Forfar Athletic have been relegated following today's 3-2 defeat to Albion Rovers at Cliftonhill in Ladbrokes League 1.

Danny Denholm gave the Loons a perfect start with a first-minute goal but Ally Love and Scott McBride scored for Rovers and Michael Dunlop got the winner after Andy Ryan had equalised from the penalty spot.

Brechin City moved out of the bottom two with a 1-0 home win over Stranraer thanks to a late goal from Jamie Robson.

Cowdenbeath now occupy the relegation play-off place after a 3-1 home defeat by Stenhousemuir. Craig Sives gave Cowden the lead but Stenny hit back after the break with an Alan Cook double and a Jon Robertson goal.

Airdrieonians remain in with a chance of making the play-offs thanks to a 3-0 win over champions Dunfermline at the Excelsior Stadium. Marc Fitzpatrick, Dylan Mackin and Jim Lister all scored in the first half.

Ayr United leapfrogged play-off opponents Peterhead with a 4-0 win at Balmoor. The Blue Toon had Rory McAllister sent off early on and the Honest Men took full advantage - Craig Moore scored twice and Ross McCrorie and Jordan Preston were also on target for Ian McCall's men.
