Livingston have signed 32-year-old midfielder Mark Fotheringham, who previously had a spell with the West Lothian club in 2011/12.

His previous clubs include Celtic, Dundee, Dundee United, Ross County and Notts County. He has also played in Germany, Switzerland and Cyprus and was most recently with Fulham.

Manager David Hopkin told the Livi website: “The club has been chasing Mark since the summer and we’re delighted he’s come in to help push us up the Championship table. Fozzy brings a wealth of experience and is just as pleased to return to Livingston as we are.”

Livingston have also announced the arrival of attacking midfielder Sam Stanton on loan from Hibernian until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Portuguese midfielder Hugo Faria has left the club ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Cup fourth-round tie against Morton at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
