Both sides go into the game on the back of Scottish Cup victories - United were 1-0 winners away to Airdrieonians and Celtic saw off Stranraer 3-0 at Stair Park.
The sides have already met twice in the Ladbrokes Premiership this season, Celtic winning 3-1 at Tannadice in August and 5-0 at Parkhead in October.
