Albion Rovers’ striker John Gemmell stepped up his return to action after a month out with a back injury by playing for the last half an hour as the Coatbridge men took on East Stirling in a closed doors game on Saturday.
The game ended 1-1 with Steven Jackson firing the Shire ahead with a fierce strike and Ryan McStay firing in a spectacular equaliser for the Cliftonhill men.
Rovers boss Paul Martin said, “It was great to get John involved again and he is probably ahead of schedule at the moment. He will be a big player for us this season and it will be great to have him fully fit and available as soon as possible.”
