Morton have signed central defender Gavin Gunning on a short-term deal until January following his departure from Dundee United towards the end of last season.
The 25-year-old had spells with Birmingham City and Oldham Athletic prior to starting his second stint at Tannadice in November 2015 and now links up with Jim Duffy's squad ahead of Saturday's game against Dunfermline Athletic at Cappielow.
The Morton boss told the club website: "I think Gavin is a terrific player and it’s just unforeseen circumstances that he found himself out of the game, so a player of his quality coming to us is fantastic.
“He’s not had any game time recently and it will take him a couple of weeks. He’s been training with a non-league team down in Birmingham but games are what it’s all about."
