Dundee boss Paul Hartley has signed 19-year-old left-sided midfielder Riccardo Calder on loan from Aston Villa until January.
The teenager has been a regular for the Villa U21 team and featured for the Premier League club's first team in pre-season matches.
Manager Paul Hartley told the club website: "We are delighted to have Riccardo join. He is highly rated and has great potential."
Dundee have no game this weekend due to the international break and return to action against Partick Thistle at Firhill in the Ladbrokes Premiership on Saturday September 12.
