New Ayr United manager Ian McCall has brought in former Clydebank and Kilmarnock midfielder John Henry as his assistant at Somerset Park.
Henry was a first-team coach with Partick Thistle after hanging up his boots and also worked with Owen Coyle at Burnley and Bolton before a spell at the Wigan Academy.
He told the Ayr United website: "When Ian called it was an easy decision for me. There is room for a huge improvement with this club and we will aim to bring that about quickly. I will be working full-time and involved with all of the training sessions.”
McCall added: “John was with me as a player and has great contacts at numerous academies in England. He is a great lad and nobody has a bad word to say about him.”
