Hibernian have completed the signing of striker Anthony Stokes on a two-year deal following his departure from Blackburn Rovers.

The 29-year-old scored a double to help Hibs lift the Scottish Cup in May 2016 during a loan spell from Celtic and now begins his third spell at Easter Road ahead of Saturday's Ladbrokes Premiership opener at home to Partick Thistle.

Stokes can also count Arsenal and Sunderland among his former clubs and told the Hibernian website: "I am delighted to be coming back. The club has a big place in my heart and it’s where I’ve played some of my best football.

“It’s an environment that can get the best out of me and I am looking forward to getting back amongst the squad and scoring goals again."
