Partick Thistle and St Mirren drew 1-1 in front of 5,971 fans at Firhill on Friday night as both clubs moved up a place in the Scottish Premiership table.

Kris Doolan headed the Jags in front when he got on the end of a terrific Kallum Higginbotham cross in 25 minutes but Kenny McLean levelled from the penalty spot right on half-time.

McLean rattled the post after the interval and Thistle substitute Lyle Taylor was also denied by the woodwork as an entertaining encounter ended all square.
