Aberdeen moved level on points with Premiership leaders Celtic but missed the chance to go top after a 1-1 draw at St Johnstone.

Simon Lappin volleyed Saints ahead on the half-hour mark but Adam Rooney equalised with a spectacular effort early in the second half.

In a highly entertaining encounter at McDiarmid Park both sides had chances to win it, with Dons keeper Scott Brown making a terrific save in stoppage time, as it ended all square.
