Inverness Caley Thistle boss John Hughes paid tribute to his players after they came close to League Cup glory.
Aberdeen won 4-2 on penalties after a 0-0 draw at Celtic Park and Hughes said: "When it goes to penalty kicks it is anyone's match. I am disappointed for the boys but so proud of them. It could have been our day.
"I give all credit to Aberdeen, and we rode our luck a bit when they hit the post, but I felt we should have had a penalty for a foul on Richie Foran near the end."
