Berwick fear that the season could be over before it has begun for winger Ross Gray who suffered a knee injury against Dunfermline in pre-season. It was initially thought that the 22 year old had suffered a medial ligament injury and would be back in September however a scan has indicated that there is possible anterior cruciate ligament damage that will require surgery and a lengthy lay-off.
Shielfield player/ manager Colin Cameron said: “The scan looks to have picked up the full extent of Ross’ injury and it looks worse than first thought. He needs to go for another assessment and if it us ACL damage then he will be out for several months if we can get things fixed privately however he will be out for the season if that cannot be done.”
