IRN-BRU Cup QF draw on Monday

The draw for the quarter-finals of the IRN-BRU Cup will made on Monday October 10 at 2.00pm.

The draw for the quarter-finals of the IRN-BRU Cup will made on Monday October 10 at 2.00pm.

One of Scottish football’s most gifted strikers, Kevin Gallacher, will be back on home turf to perform the draw at the iconic Titan Crane in Clydebank.

The former Dundee United and Scotland star spent seven seasons at Tannadice and famously scored against Barcelona to help the Tangerines reach the UEFA Cup Final in 1987.

Kevin, who also won the Premier League title with Blackburn Rovers during his career, will perform the draw alongside Olympic swimmer, and life-long Hibernian supporter, Dan Wallace.

After winning a silver medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay in Rio this summer, Dan will be ditching his swimming trunks to help Kevin pull out the famous ginger balls to decide who will go head-to-head in the quarter-finals of the IRN-BRU Cup.

The draw will be performed at the Titan Crane and streamed live on Periscope via IRN-BRU’s official Twitter channel (@irnbrufootball).

Following the draw, Kevin and Dan will be climbing to the top of the 60ft crane for photos with the IRN-BRU Cup trophy as a nod to Scotland’s other national drink’s ship-building heritage.

Quarter-final ties are due to be played on the weekend of November 12/13.
